My Journey to Product DesignNov, 2020
2007, I began my study of Industrial Design, and earned my bachelor degree in Dalian University of Technology, China. The fundamental design education taught me aesthetics, user-centered design, research skills, and to me importantly, the ambition to help people live better.
2014, I started my UX design career as an Interaction Designer in Augmentum, where I practiced my skills of designing the user flows, storyboards, persona, user interface for the Wynn Macau Casino Management System project. Then I worked as a UX Consultant in Accenture Interactive, participated in various projects, like China Construction Bank website rebuilding, and Huawei consumer website redesign.
2015, I moved to the United States for my master study at NYU, Interactive Telecommunication Program, where I explored Concepts to envision the possibilities of the technology meeting with art and design.
2017, I worked for a Google Research team, Crowd 9, as a User Experience Designer, for multiple language data processing projects, including a tool, Google Longplay, to help researchers have transcribed and annotated ~800 hours of raw audio dialogue data.
2018, I joined Wayfair as a Product Designer to design the upper funnel shopping experience for Wayfair.com.
2020, I am working at MassMutual as a Senior Product Designer to digitize insurance products for financial advisors.
My design journey continues, and feel free to say hi to me.
